It was with a great deal of sadness, shock, and anger when I learned of Greg's tragic accident.
I had just ridden through that very same corridor minutes before. We live west of Asheville, and I was riding in for some of the Honda Hoot activities.
That damn stretch of I-40 between Asheville & the Tenn. line has more truck related accidents based on (truck) driver stupidity than any other place I know of. The grade is deceptively steep, curvy and with a lot of merging & major rapid lane direction changes in a short space. They haven't found the truck yet, a nondescript white & red cube van.
I've gotten a lot of fresh crap about how dangerous bikes are, none about cube vans!!
Thoughts & prayers are with Greg's immediate and extended family.
